The Florence County Fair serves as a showcase to highlight the many and varied talents of Florence County residents. One of the ways to do this is by making entries that can be put on display at the Florence County Fair.  

We have our traditional exhibits as well as those Special Exhibit Contests.

This page features Traditional Exhibits, which can only be entered by Florence County Residents ages 5 and older.

Special Exhibit Contests, which can be entered by anyone regardless of age and of place of residence

Question:  What are exhibits?
Answer:  Exhibits are items that have been created, made, crafted, and/or grown by the person entering them in the fair.

Question:  Who can enter items in the fair?
Answer:  Anyone, but there are some limitations:  
  • Florence County Youth under the age of five can only enter items in 17a (found below in Part 1 of this webpage).

  • Florence County Youth ages 5-6 can only enter items in 17b-17h (found below in Part 1 of this webpage) and the special exhibit contests.

  • Florence County Youth ages 7-17 can enter items in youth class departments 14-34 (found below in Part 1 of this webpage) and the special exhibit contests.

  • Florence County Adults ages 18 & older can enter items in open class departments 114-128 (found below in Part 1 of this webpage) and the special exhibit contests.


Question: Why should I enter items into the fair?
Answer: Entering your items into the fair gives you the chance to display your hard work and talents. 

Question: Can you really earn money for your fair exhibits?
Answer: Yes. Exhibits winning ribbons also receive a premium. A premium is a monetary prize that is associated with the ribbon won. The premium amounts are listed under each department in the book.

Traditional Exhibits under the age of 5
1.)All State of Wisconsin and Florence County Fair rules apply. In addition the following rules will also be enforced for the Early Childhood Exhibits only:

2.)Open to children under 5, who are not yet old enough to exhibit in any other categories in the Florence County Fair.

3.)All work should be done by the child.  

4.)All drawings should be done on regular size paper 8 1/2” x 11” 

5.)Only one entry per lot (one of each type of entry) can be submitted.

6.)No premiums will be paid out. Judging will be done with Danish placing, and ribbons will be awarded.

Traditional Exhibits ages 5 to 6
1.)All State of Wisconsin and Florence County Fair rules apply. 

2.)Open to members enrolled in Cloverbuds, and those students in grades K-2 (ages 5-6) who participate in similar projects.  

3.)Judging will be done with Danish placing.  

4.)All work should be done by the member but may be assisted by parent or leader.  

5.)Poster size is to be 14” by 22”.  

6.)Only one entry per lot (one of each type of entry) can be submitted.

7.)Premiums will be awarded at $1.50 per exhibit

Traditional Exhibits ages 7 to 18
  • All Florence County youth, may enter exhibits in the fair. Youth class is defined as:
  • Children under the age of 5, can only enter exhibits listed in Department 17a.  
  • Children ages 5-6 may only enter exhibits listed in Department 17 Classes B through H.  
  • Any child having completed first grade, through grade 12, may enter the rest of the exhibits listed as Youth Class: Departments 1-16 and 18-34.
  • Registration is FREE.  If you have questions, you can call the fair at 906-282-9153
  • Pre-Registration is until August 9. Please note: It is easier and quicker for you to preregister all of the items you think you might be bringing and then cancel those items that weren’t ready when you drop off your items. 
  • Those pre-registered will have their entry tags printed and waiting for them when they come to drop off their exhibits.  
  • Pre-registered exhibitors may still add or remove items from their registration form when they bring their items to the fair.
  • Entries will be accepted after August 9, but it is requested that after August 9, you email your entries or bring your entry form with you to the fair on August 21. All items must be registered by August 21. 
  • You must schedule a time to drop off your items on August 21. You will need to sign-up for a drop-off time between noon and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21. If you preregister, you can indicate your time preference on the form. If you do not preregister, you will need to call or e-mail to setup an appointment to drop off your items.

  • All resident Florence County over the age of 18 may enter this category.

How to Enter Exhibits
Registration is FREE.  

If you have questions, you can call the fair at 906-282-9153

Pre-Registration is until August 11. Please note: It is easier and quicker for you to preregister all of the items you think you might be bringing and then cancel those items that weren’t ready when you drop off your items. 

Those pre-registered will have their entry tags printed and waiting for them when they come to drop off their exhibits.  

Pre-registered exhibitors may still add or remove items from their registration form when they bring their items to the fair.

Entries will be accepted after August 11, but it is requested that after August 11, you email your entries or bring your entry form with you to the fair on August 23. All items must be registered by August 23.

Exhibits cannot be released before 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.  Exhibits may be picked up between 4 and 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 27.  You will be able to sign-up for a pick-up time when you drop off your exhibits.  If this day and time does not work for picking up exhibits, please let us know when you bring your exhibits on Wednesday.

There is a registration form below. You may make copies or write on a blank sheet of paper. The same entry form can be used for kids (youth class), adults (open class) and special contest entries. Each individual must have their own form.
Entry Form & Local Regulations
If you plan to enter any exhibits into the Florence County Fair, you will need to print a copy of this Exhibitor Entry Form. If you are unsure how to complete this form, you can give us a call or bring it with you on entry day.

All exhibits must be brought to the fairgrounds between noon and 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.  You will be asked to set an appointment time to bring your exhibits.  Please note, the time slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis, so you may be contacted to switch time slots if your preferred time slot is already taken.  

If you are preregistering, you can select a time using the bottom of the form.

If you are not preregistering, you still need to set an appointment time.  You can set an appointment by calling the fair office at 906-282-9153 or by emailing florencecountyfair@hotmail.com
