Help-Us-Raise-the-Roof

The Florence County Fair Exhibit Building is need of a new roof. Over the last few years, we have tried many times to get by with a lesser solution; however, it has come to the point that the roof is leaking beyond a simple repair. We have talked to many local contractors, and they all agree it is time to replace the roof.

The good news is that we applied for and received a grant for $7500 from the Lumberjack Council to help cover the cost of replacing the roof. The bad news is that a new steel roof is going to cost us approximately $16,000. The fair board has looked into other avenues for financing with no success. For this reason, we are looking to the public to help us “Raise the Roof.” We are looking for people who are willing to make a monetary donation to help us defray the cost of the roof.

Donations can be made to the Florence County Fair – Roof Fund at the State Bank of Florence or they can be mailed to the Florence County Fair, P.O. Box 704, Florence, WI 54121. Donation canisters will also be located throughout Florence County in the coming weeks.

The Florence County Fair is completely run and operated by volunteers who put in thousands of hours a year to make the fair happen. It is the people and volunteers of Florence County who make this fair happen every year, and once again we are looking to the people of Florence County for help.
