Are you looking for something for your kids to do? Would you like to get them involved in the Florence County Fair? The Florence County Fair has created an opportunity for you to do just that. New to the fair this year is a “Pet Rock Contest.” Join the 2011 Florence County Fairest of the Fair, Chelsie Leslie, in creating your very own “Pet Rock” to exhibit at the fair.   There is no cost to participate in this activity/event.

Here’s what you need to do—have your kids create/decorate a Pet Rock between now and Wednesday, August 24.  Then, you need to bring the Pet Rocks to the fair on Wednesday, August 24 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to register your Pet.  When the kids bring their, rock, they will be asked to answer a few questions about their new pet—what’s it’s name, what does it eat, what is it’s favorite color, etc. We will take their picture with their rock and then hold on to their rocks until the fair is over. They will be on display at the Florence County Fair and will be entered to win prizes for their rocks.

It’s a chance for your kids to let their imagination run wild. Any adults interested in creating a pet rock are also welcome to create one.  If you have any questions, please call 715-528-4773 or e-mail florencecountyfair@hotmail.com.
